FOOD-FIZZ-SILENT DISCO AT YES (22nd February)
Put on those dancing shoes ready to boogie with the kids this February half term. Our Kids Social will be bringing all the fun to the YES dancefloor with interactive games, challenges and fancy dress props, and of course, headsets to listen to the latest pop tunes or change the channel for a guilty pleasures playlist parents will love. Make the most of the school holidays with pizza and prosecco, (soft drinks for the little ones) for lunch too!
A WORLD INSIDE A BOOK: GRUFFALOS, DRAGONS AND OTHER CREATURES (February 2019 – Early 2020)
Step into a magical world based on best-loved stories from the magnificent duo author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler. Climb through The Highway Rat’s deep, dark cave and discover underwater worlds of Tiddler and The Snail and the Whale in the UK’s first immersive exhibition of their wonderful work.
SCIENCE & INDUSTRY MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS & EVENTS
Our city’s science and industry museum has an exciting line up of exhibitions from electricity to engineering, there’s plenty of hands-on activities and science experiments for all ages to explore. Join the daily interactive LIVE family science showdown, watch real steam engine demonstrations to find out how they powered our factories, and see Stephenson’s Rocket locomotive which was built to run on the world’s first inter-city railway line from right here, in Manchester.
WHITWORTH OUTDOOR ART CLUB (Saturdays, Term Time)
Explore Whitworth park with your little one, where they can get creative in these weekly play-based art sessions led by artists and forest school practitioners. Children can try mud painting, water play, den building and bug hunting, just be sure to pack an extra set of dry clothes to change into after all the outdoor fun!
ANNIE THE MUSICAL – MANCHESTER OPERA HOUSE (2nd-16th February)
It’s a hard-know life for little Annie in this world-famous family musical straight from London’s West End to Manchester Opera House this February.
Fancy an alternative exercise to boost your family’s health and fitness? Scoot Fit is an active travel program helping children and adults develop and improve agility, balance, coordination, muscle strength and endurance. Whether you are 2 years old or 80 years old, people of all ages can learn new scooting skills in their fun, family sessions.
MINI MAGIC FLUTE AT THE LOWRY (5th & 9th March)
Introduce your family to opera with this enchanting, interactive retelling of Mozart’s magical fairy tale performance at The Lowry this March. A creative session beforehand gives children the opportunity to make their very own creation to feature in this fun-packed, musical show. #MiniMagicFlute
